The Deadpool Corps could have been even cooler! Concept art for Deadpool and Wolverine reveals scrapped plans for a variant combining the film’s two heroes.
The Deadpool Corps fight in Deadpool and Wolverine will go down as one of the coolest fights in all of the MCU. The scene is chocked full of easter eggs and endless variants of the Merc with a Mouth. However, it seems one didn’t make the cut, with senior concept artist David Masson San Gabriel revealing a scrapped variant combining Deadpool and Wolverine into one hero!
While it’s a shame that this concept art wasn’t able to come to life as a member of the Deadpool Corps, it’s not likely that fans would’ve been able to spot it in the midst of call the carnage in Deadpool and Wolverine. That being said, it’s still a cool variant to see. However, he’s not the only character that didn’t make it to the big screen of the MCU.
Deadpool And Wolverine Gets A Punk Variant
While so much of Deadpool and Wolverine was a celebration of Marvel outside of the MCU, not much lip service was paid to the Sony Spider-Verse. With projects like Madame Web lining their roster, it’s hard to blame them. However, concept art for the film reveals a variant for the Deadpool Corps seemingly inspired by Spider-Punk from Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse.
This is another variant that would have been cool to see in the crowd of the Deadpool Corps. And given it has a much simpler costume than “Wolverinepool”, it likely wouldn’t have impacted the budget of Deadpool and Wolverine much. Though given the MCU still has a few films left in their multiverse saga, it’s possible these two come back in some form!
