Slade Joseph Wilson, perhaps better known as DC’s Deathstroke, was created all the way back in 1980 by Marv Wolfman and George Perez. We’ve seen Deathstroke in live-action before, courtesy of Manu Bennett in Arrow, and we’re about to see a new take on the character by Joe Manganiello in the upcoming Batman movie. This news was broken by an awesome video released by Ben Affleck himself.
This casting news was met by exceedingly high levels of approval by fans – something that the DC Extended Universe should be used to by now (think back to Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn casting news, for example.) Well, we can now say that quite an important figure in Deathstroke’s creation is also in approval of the recent casting… None other than Marv Wolfman himself.

Wolfman helped to introduce this fan-favourite character in the 80’s hit, Teen Titans. It’s awesome to see somebody who had such a big part to play in building this character encourage somebody else to give their own take on him. Other comic book character creators, such as Alan Moore, haven’t been so supportive in the past.
It’s clear than Manganiello is taking the role seriously as he’s been researching a whole bunch of different books that feature Deathstroke the Terminator.
