Denzel Washington may have made a massive mistake! The iconic actor speaks out on revealing a potential role in the upcoming Black Panther 3.
One of the biggest bombshells to come out of Marvel Studios in recent years was the reveal that Denzel Washington would be joining the MCU in Black Panther 3. While one would assume it was the studio wanting to tout such a legendary actor coming to their franchise, it was actually Washington himself who let it slip a role was being made for him in the film.
Denzel Washington actually spoke about this verbal fumble in a recent episode of the Variety Awards Circuit Podcast. In yet another shocking revelation, it seems that he actually called director Ryan Coogler to apologize for spoiling his role in Black Panther 3. The actor also teased that he may be looking at Coogler’s material outside of the Black Panther franchise.
“Ryan’s a genius. I called him and apologized for talking about the movie, and right there sitting with him was his beautiful wife. He’s still Ryan, humble and full of ideas. Whatever he writes, I’ll read.”
Who Is Denzel Washington Playing In Black Panther 3?
It’s good to hear that Denzel Washington and Ryan Coogler are on good terms, especially as the script isn’t finished yet! This, of course, led to the question of what role might be in store for Washington when Black Panther 3 finally hits theaters. Though sadly for fans, it seems that the actor’s lips may be well and truly sealed from this point on, remarking: “That’s between me and Ryan.”
It’s also important to note that Denzel Washington likely isn’t a savant in Black Panther lore. Even if he did want to reveal some details about the role Ryan Coogler was writing for him, it’s likely that he wouldn’t be revealing a crazy character from the comics that he would be playing throughout the MCU. Most likely, whatever character he is playing will be a one-and-done in Black Panther 3.
