Long-range box office projections for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness‘ opening weekend spell out another success for Marvel Studios.
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be the first proper sequel from Marvel Studios in Phase Four. With all possibilities that could be on the horizon, the upcoming MCU film led by Benedict Cumberbatch is expected to make bank at the box office.
According to Box Office Pro, early box office tracking for Multiverse of Madness sees the Marvel film earning between $170 million to $205 million domestically. This range is a massive jump from the first film’s $85 million opening but in line with Spider-Man: No Way Home‘s $260 million back in December.
Another sign that the sequel is poised for a big opening in May comes from pre-ticket sales. According to Fandango, the sequel topped Robert Pattinson’s The Batman for the highest amount of early tickets sold in 2022 when they went on sale earlier this month.
