The time jump between Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness and Spider-Man: No Way Home has been revealed.

The Multiverse Saga is Marvel Studios’ exciting narrative that began in WandaVision, continued through Loki, and most recently had its first theatrical chapter with Spider-Man: No Way Home. The next chapter, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness looks to be the culmination of the story – at least for now.

Given that Doctor Strange served as an integral character in the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, the events of that film help set up Multiverse of Madness. Now, thanks to Fandango, it’s been confirmed that the highly-anticipated sequel is set roughly a few months later. Here’s an excerpt from their recent report:

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness picks up roughly a few months after the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home, and it will pit familiar Marvel characters like Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch), Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Wong (Benedict Wong) against their greatest enemy yet… altered versions of themselves.”

It looks like the film will explore some of the repercussions of the spell Stephen Strange cast in Spider-Man: No Way Home. It will certainly be interesting to see what’s been going on in his life since he helped his old friend Peter Parker with his situation. Unfortunately for him, it looks like he will be embarking on perhaps the most perilous solo adventure any Avenger has embarked on.

Here is the synopsis for the upcoming film:

The MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Directed by Sam Raimi from a script written by Michael Waldron, the Marvel movie stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stuhlbarg, Rachel McAdams, and Patrick Stewart.

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness hits theaters on May 6, 2022. Meanwhile, Spider-Man: No Way Home is currently available to own on Digital HD and will be available on 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray, Blu-ray, and DVD on April 12, 2022.
