A new teaser for Dwayne Johnson’s DC movie Black Adam teases its connections to the wider DCEU with a glimpse of the heroes of the Justice League.

There has been some uncertainty over the current status of the DCEU, but the latest Black Adam teaser apparently confirms this film takes place in the same continuity as Zack Snyder’s earlier DC movies, offering a look at some of the Justice League’s key members.

As well as taking a look back at the characters who have already been seen in the DCEU, the teaser offers a new look at Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam and the heroes of the Justice Society.

Before Heroes & Villains There Was Black Adam

The latest Black Adam teaser was shared by Dwayne Johnson via Twitter and features Viola Davis’ Amanda Waller introducing the ancient antihero.

The clips featured showing heroes from the Justice League, as well as a brief look at Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn, are not from Black Adam but earlier DCEU movies. However, the implication is clear – Black Adam exists alongside the heroes and villains we already know and love.

Check out the new teaser, shared by Dwayne Johnson, below:

Interestingly, Batman and Superman are represented only by a batarang and the emblem on Superman’s chest – neither Ben Affleck’s nor Henry Cavill’s faces are shown, perhaps further fuelling speculation over the actors’ DCEU future.

Other clips seen in the trailer reveal Black Adam burning a man to a crisp from a single electrified touch, the sudden appearance of Pierce Brosnan’s Doctor Fate and a violent clash between Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam and Aldis Hodge’s Hawkman.

Here is the synopsis for Black Adam:

“Nearly 5,000 years after he was bestowed with the almighty powers of the ancient gods—and imprisoned just as quickly—Black Adam (Johnson) is freed from his earthly tomb, ready to unleash his unique form of justice on the modern world.”

Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra from a script written by Adam Sztykiel and Rory Haines & Sohrab Noshirvani, the DCEU film stars Dwayne Johnson, Aldis Hodge, Noah Centineo, Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, Quintessa Swindell, Bodhi Sabongui, and Pierce Brosnan.

Black Adam opens in theaters on October 21, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming film and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more original video content.
