Dwayne Johnson has responded to criticism over one of his lines in the trailer for his upcoming DC superhero film, Black Adam.
It’s been an incredibly long road to get to Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam film. The character was originally set to play the villain of the first Shazam! film before it was decided to give Dwayne Johnson his own movie. The film was delayed numerous times due to the actor’s busy schedule as well as the Covid-19 pandemic. Now, at long last, the release date is coming upon us and the promotional cycle for the film has begun in earnest.
Earlier this week, the first trailer for Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam was screened at CinemaCon. While the trailer itself has not been made public the details were shared across the internet. One detail notes that someone says to Black Adam that superheroes don’t kill people to which Dwayne Johnson’s character says that he does. One fan, however, seems to have taken issue with this line.
In a recent post, a fan listed off a number of superheroes who have killed people in the past. This included Batman, Superman, Wonder Woman, and Aquaman, citing how the line doesn’t make any sense. Dwayne Johnson responded by stating that the line will make sense in the film proper.
You can see the full interaction below:
Directed by Jaume Collet-Serra, Black Adam stars Dwayne Johnson as the titular anti-hero, Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher, Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone, and Pierce Brosnan as Doctor Fate. Sarah Shahi, Marwan Kenzari, James Cusati-Moyer, and Bodhi Sabongui are also on board in undisclosed roles.
Black Adam is set to hit theaters on October 22nd, 2022. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the upcoming Dwayne Johnson film and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
