EA has officially announced a brand new Star Wars video game titled Star Wars: Squadrons, along with the reveal that the first trailer will be coming next week.

Rogue Squadron fans could be in luck as the next title to take place in a galaxy far, far away from EA is set to focus on aerial and space combat as players pilot X-Wings and Tie Fighters, going head-to-head against each other. Rumors swirled earlier this year after an unannounced Star Wars video game dubbed Project Maverick appeared on the PlayStation Network, with an image that teased X-Wings pitted against a Star Destroyer.

Earlier today, the title and the poster for Star Wars: Squadrons leaked onto the Xbox Store website, revealing the first look at what to expect from the game, with the tagline “Pilots wanted.” EA has now officially revealed the poster, announcing fans will get to see the first trailer for the new Star Wars game from EA Motive this coming Monday, June 15 at 8:00 a.m. PST.

According to VentureBeat, Squadrons will include a single-player campaign, however, the emphasis will be on multiplayer with players encouraged to participate in team battles. It is also expected to be smaller in size compared to previous EA games such as Battlefront II and Jedi: Fallen Order.

Star Wars: Squadrons will reportedly be available on both consoles and PC this fall. A sequel for Fallen Order is also expected to be in the works as the game was previously confirmed as the start of a new franchise earlier this year. The follow-up is rumored to be targeting a 2021 release date.
