Are we going to see Patriot?

Eli Bradley actor Elijah Richardson responded to rumors he’ll appear in Captain America 4.

The Falcon and The Winter Soldier served as a bit of an origin story for Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and his acceptance of taking over the mantle of Captain America after Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) passed down the shield to him at the end of Avengers: Endgame. In the series, he encounters Isaiah Bradley (Carl Lumbly), who served in the Korean War and was a Black Supersoldier that was experimented on for 30 years. Given that his history was kept obscured from the public, this took a toll on him and his family, including his grandson Eli Bradley (Elijah Richardson).

Given the appearance of Eli Bradley in the series, some have speculated that this will lead to an appearance in Captain America 4, which will feature Sam Wilson in his cinematic debut as Steve Rogers’ successor. While promoting Disney Plus’ Hollywood Stargirl, Elijah Richardson was asked about the possibility of returning to the MCU, to which he replied, “No comment,” albeit with a smile to the camera.

Will Elijah Richardson play Patriot?

In the comics, Eli Bradley ends up becoming Patriot, a member of the Young Avengers. Given that the MCU has recently introduced a slew of new, younger characters, some have predicted that this specific team will be assembled in the near future. In regards to a potential appearance in Captain America 4, it would make total sense for Elijah Richardson to appear, especially as a tribute to Isaiah Bradley.

Elijah Richardson made his MCU debut as Eli Bradley in The Falcon and The Winter Soldier. Here is the synopsis:

Following the events of “Avengers: Endgame,” Sam Wilson/Falcon (Anthony Mackie) and Bucky Barnes/Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan) team up in a global adventure that tests their abilities—and their patience—in Marvel Studios’ “The Falcon and The Winter Soldier.”

Directed by Kari Skogland from scripts written by showrunner Malcolm Spellman and Derek Kolstad, the series stars Anthony Mackie as Sam Wilson / Falcon, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes / The Winter Soldier, Emily VanCamp as Sharon Carter, Daniel Brühl as Baron Helmut Zemo, and Wyatt Russell as John Walker / U.S. Agent. Actors Desmond Chiam, Miki Ishikawa, Noah Mills, Elijah Richardson, and Carl Lumbly are also in the cast.
