Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness features some surprise appearances from numerous characters from Marvel Comics lore. While much of the discussion regarding characters’ appearances are centered on the use of Earth-838’s Illuminati, including Professor X (Patrick Stewart), the film’s mid-credits scene has also garnered attention thanks to the casting of Charlize Theron as Clea.

In the comics, Clea is also known as Doctor Clea Strange, and is portrayed as a sorceress, disciple, lover and eventual wife to Doctor Strange. She also ends up taking the mantle of the Sorcerer Supreme after him. The appearance of Charlize Theron got a lot of viewers intrigued, given that this will be the latest Academy Award-winning actress to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

An intriguing MCU future for Charlize Theron’s Clea.

Given how brisk the mid-credits scene for Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is, it appears that Stephen Strange is ready to fix an incursion with his new ally Clea. Given that the MCU is already introducing us to who will likely be his new love interest, the prospect of Benedict Cumberbatch and Charlize Theron appearing in future projects together is quite exciting. After all, both are some of the most acclaimed performers of their time, and to see them exhibit that in the biggest franchise in the world is exciting.

Here is the synopsis for the film:

The MCU unlocks the Multiverse and pushes its boundaries further than ever before. Journey into the unknown with Doctor Strange, who, with the help of mystical allies both old and new, traverses the mind-bending and dangerous alternate realities of the Multiverse to confront a mysterious new adversary.

Directed by Sam Raimi from a script written by Michael Waldron, the Marvel film stars Benedict Cumberbatch, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen, Benedict Wong, Xochitl Gomez, with Michael Stuhlbarg, Rachel McAdams, and Patrick Stewart.
