‘Marvel’s Helstrom’ Casts Tom Austen, Sydney Lemmon & Elizabeth Marvel

Hulu has finally revealed the cast for Marvel’s Helstrom, with Tom Austen, Sydney Lemmon and Elizabeth Marvel leading the show.

Tom Austen, Sydney Lemmon and Elizabeth Marvel are leading the fight against supernatural threats when Marvel’s Helstrom debuts on Hulu in 2020. This comes after the news that Hulu weren’t taking Marvel’s Ghost Rider series any further. But Marvel’s Helstrom series has started production, with Hulu announcing the main cast as well as teasing what audiences can expect from the supernatural show.

Tom Austen (The Royals) will be playing Daimon Helstrom, an ethics professor who also happens to be an exorcist. Sydney Lemmon (Fear The Walking Dead) is portraying his formidable sister Ana Helstrom, who runs an auction house and attempts to stop evil hurting others like her serial killer father hurt her. Elizabeth Marvel (Homeland) rounds off the Helstrom trio by playing the siblings’ Mother Victoria Helstrom, an institutionalized woman literally haunted by the past. Executive producer Paul Zbyszewski explained to Deadline how excited he is about the Helstrom cast.

“We feel incredibly fortunate to have landed a cast loaded with this much talent. From the beginning, we knew we’d need a group of actors who were multifaceted, who could play all the chords any great Marvel show promises to play, from dramatic thriller to comedy to action. It’s going to be really fun to watch them work.”

It’s ironic that Marvel’s Helstrom is going ahead without the Ghost Rider series, since Helstrom first debuted in the Ghost Rider comics. But since this new era of Marvel Television aims to provide darker, supernatural characters on the small screen, it’s not impossible he could return in some way. Executive producer Jeph Loeb explained how fantastic Zbyszewski’s writing is and that Marvel’s Helstrom comes under Marvel Television’s new terrifying banner.

“Marvel Television is thrilled to have such an amazing cast that enriches Paul’s fantastic writing. The ensemble is the perfect way to bring our audience into our Adventure into Fear franchise causing delicious nightmares of what’s to come!”
