‘WandaVision’ Stars Elizabeth Olsen & Paul Bettany Lose Out At Golden Globes

"Probably just a case of the Mondays!"

WandaVision Elizabeth Olsen Paul Bettany Golden Globes

WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany both lost in their respective categories at the 2022 Golden Globes.

The 2022 Golden Globes were awarded last night, and although there was no televised ceremony this year due to ongoing controversy with the Hollywood Foreign Press, the winners were still announced. This year, Marvel Studios’ first original Disney Plus series WandaVision was nominated in two major categories: One for Best Actress in a Miniseries or Television Film (Elizabeth Olsen), and another for Best Actor in a Miniseries or Television Film (Paul Bettany).

Unfortunately for WandaVision fans, the series ended up getting shut out at the Golden Globes, with Elizabeth Olsen losing to Kate Winslet for her performance in the HBO limited series Mare of Easttown, and Paul Bettany losing to Michael Keaton for his performance in the Hulu miniseries Dopesick.

Despite losing at the Golden Globes, WandaVision along with its stars Elizabeth Olsen, Paul Bettany and Kathryn Hahn have been prominent fixtures in the television awards season. Marvel Studios’ original miniseries was nominated for numerous Primetime Emmy Awards a few months back, with the three actors mentioned above also getting nominations.

With more new series from Marvel Studios in development, it will be interesting to see what other potential opportunities there are for Golden Globes, Primetime Emmy Awards and other accolades could be in store if the new Disney Plus series are acclaimed. WandaVision definitely started this new foray for the MCU with a bang, and with exciting new projects like Oscar Isaac’s Moon Knight and Tatiana Maslany’s She-Hulk on the way, things look pretty promising.

Here is the synopsis for WandaVision:

Marvel Studios’ “WandaVision” blends the style of classic sitcoms with the Marvel Cinematic Universe in which Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) and Vision (Paul Bettany)—two super-powered beings living their ideal suburban lives—begin to suspect that everything is not as it seems.

Matt Shakman directed the series with Jac Schaeffer as the lead scribe with Kevin Feige producing; WandaVision stars Elizabeth Olsen as Wanda Maximoff/Scarlet Witch, Paul Bettany as The Vision, Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau, Kat Dennings as Darcy Lewis, Randall Park as Agent Jimmy Woo, Evan Peters as Ralph Bohner, and Kathryn Hahn as Agatha Harkness.

WandaVision is available to stream on Disney Plus. Be sure to continue following Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news on Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany’s future in the MCU, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
