Emilia Clarke is a common choice for fan casting in many different comic book film franchises such as the DCEU thanks to her star-making role as Daenerys Targaryen in the hit HBO series Game of Thrones. Emilia Clarke has been nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series three times and received a nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her performance in the controversial final season of Game of Thrones.
In the comics, Zatanna Zatara is both a stage magician and an actual magician. She adopted much of her magical powers from her father Giovanni “John” Zatara and controls her powers by speaking her incantations spelled backwards. Zatanna is often associated with the Justice League and has been romantically tied to John Constantine.
Last year, it was reported that Warner Bros. is working on a Zatanna standalone movie for the DCEU. Zatanna had previously been mentioned as a member of the Justice League Dark lineup for the live-action film being produced by Scott Rudin.
Zatanna is one of the many projects currently being developed by Warner Bros. and DC. These projects include The Flash standalone film, Green Lantern Corps, Black Adam, Cyborg, Supergirl, New Gods, and Nightwing.
Do you think Emilia Clarke should play Zatanna for the DCEU? Would this be a good choice for her to make now that Game of Thrones is over?
