Emily Blunt commented on the fan casting for Marvel Studios’ Fantastic Four.

With Marvel Studios now in control of the Fantastic Four screen rights following Disney’s acquisition of the formerly titled 20th Century Fox, fans are eager to see what the company has planned for the famous superhero team. While there have been official details on Marvel Studios’ plans for the Fantastic Four, fans continue to propose potential actors for key roles and Emily Blunt remains a popular choice for the role of Sue Storm, a.k.a. The Invisible Woman.

During an interview with ComicBook.com to promote A Quiet Place: Part II, Emilly Blunt was asked if she was prepared for any fan backlash if she doesn’t get the role in a Fantastic Four project. In response, Emily Blunt noted that while she is flattered by the fan casting, it is all merely hypothetical at this point:

“Well I don’t know, you’re gonna have to speak to Feige about it, right? No, fan casting is obviously so flattering and lovely, but I don’t see it as anything other than hypothetical until they cast someone else. I don’t know.”

This is far from the first name Emily Blunt’s name has been tied to a Marvel role. She was offered the role of Black Widow but ultimately turned it down and nearly played Peggy Carter before that didn’t work out.
