Emma Roberts recently talked about her experience working on Sony’s Madame Web film so far.
In the wake of two Venom films and Morbius, Sony will continue to pull Spider-Man characters and build their own Marvel universe with the characters they own. Films centered on Kraven and Madame Web is currently on the horizon for the studio.
With Madame Web, recent rumors have suggested the Sony film will feature a direct connection to Peter Parker with Adam Scott playing Uncle Ben and Emma Roberts playing Peter’s mother. Set photos from the film have shown Roberts pregnant, and she could be carrying Peter. Based on other set photos, the film might also take place in the early 2000s, which could determine the Sony Verse’s version of Spider-Man.
Emma Roberts Opens Up
Entertainment Tonight recently caught up with Emma Roberts, who didn’t drop any Madame Web spoilers, but did share her excitement for being part of the Spider-Man project:
“I can tell you that I’m in L.A. right now, but I’m going back to shoot a few more scenes soon, so we’ll just have to see… it’s been really fun. I have to say, I was so excited to get to join the cast. I love Dakota Johnson. I love Sydney Sweeney. It’s a really, really unique cast and story, so I’m really excited. It’s been really fun to work with everyone… I can’t wait for everyone to see it, for real, because it’s so cool.”
Here is the synopsis for Sony’s latest Spider-Man spin-off, Morbius:
“One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.”
Directed by Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, the film stars Jared Leto as the lead anti-hero, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, and Tyrese Gibson. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach are producing the project with Lucas Foster, while Palak Patel will oversee for Sony.
