A new photo from the set of Sony’s upcoming Spider-Man spin-off Madame Web reveals Marvel’s most infamous newspaper, the Daily Bugle, will have a presence in the film.

Details of Madame Web have so far been kept firmly under wraps, but as set photos and new rumors continue to surface, it is becoming more and more apparent that the film will tie more closely into Peter Parker’s life than the previous Sony Spidey spin-offs, Venom and Morbius.

The latest element from Spider-Man’s world to be spotted on Madame Web‘s set was the logo for J. Jonah Jameson’s Spidey-bashing newspaper, the Daily Bugle.

The newest Madame Web set photo shows a Daily Bugle van driving by a diner frequented by Peter Parker in the comics.

While a recent batch of set photos confirmed the film would feature Peter Parker’s old college haunt, the 4 Star Diner, this latest image shows a Daily Bugle van driving past the diner. As well as the Daily Bugle logo, the van sports the web address “” – a website that, at present, simply shows a cartoon illustration of Spider-Man and the Green Goblin.

Interestingly, the Daily Bugle logo featured on the van doesn’t match the logo seen in any past Spider-Man films. Venom: Let There Be Carnage and Morbius both used the Daily Bugle logo seen in Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films, which featured a different typeface and a bugle image.

Amidst uncertainty over Madame Web‘s place in the Marvel Multiverse, this logo may suggest the film takes place in a brand new continuity. Alternatively, with sets recreating early 2000s New York having been photographed, this logo could simply be an earlier version of the Daily Bugle’s logo in one of the three pre-existing live-action Spider-Man timelines.

Here is the synopsis for Sony’s most recent Marvel film, Morbius:

“One of Marvel’s most compelling and conflicted characters comes to the big screen as Oscar® winner Jared Leto transforms into the enigmatic antihero, Michael Morbius. Dangerously ill with a rare blood disorder, and determined to save others suffering his same fate, Dr. Morbius attempts a desperate gamble. What at first appears to be a radical success, a darkness inside him is unleashed and transforms this healer into a hunter.”

Directed by Daniel Espinosa from a script written by Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless, Morbius stars Jared Leto, Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, Al Madrigal, and Tyrese Gibson. Avi Arad and Matt Tolmach produced the project with Lucas Foster, with Palak Patel overseeing it for Sony.

Morbius is available on all home media formats, while Madame Web will hit theaters on October 6, 2023. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news regarding Madame Web, and be sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
