The Falcon and the Winter Soldier won’t arrive on Disney Plus this August following the production delay due to the ongoing pandemic.

A big Disney Plus selling point for Marvel fans was the number of shows focusing on their favorite heroes and villains heading to the streaming service in the coming months. Unfortunately, it seems that we’ll have to wait a little longer for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier, because it definitely isn’t going to make its original August release date due to the coronavirus pandemic. The excitement surrounding the series was just beginning to really build, with Zemo actor Daniel Bruhl recently opening up about seeing the villain’s comic-accurate mask for the first time.

It was recently announced the Disney Plus show can resume production in the Czech Republic since Europe has begun easing lockdown restrictions, with the cast and crew heading back to continue filming in the Fall for a nine-day shoot. And if that news wasn’t confirmation enough Disney Plus recently announced what’s coming to the streaming service in August, and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier isn’t on it. The only consolation is the arrival of X-Men and Ant-Man and the Wasp during the month. For now, there’s been now confirmed release date for the show starring Anthony Mackie and Sebastian Stan, but if they’re finishing in the fall, it seems likely the series could arrive on Disney Plus in 2021.

When do you think The Falcon and the Winter Soldier will arrive on Disney Plus? Do you think the other shows will be delayed too? Sound-off in the comments below!

Here is the official synopsis for The Falcon and the Winter Soldier:
