During a recent interview for Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning, Vanessa Kirby addressed the rumors claming that she is taking on the role of Sue Storm for the Marvel Cinematic Universe reboot of the Fantastic Four. For Kirby, playing the Invisible Woman would be an honor.
It’s been nearly four years since the Fantastic Four reboot was officially announced by Marvel Studios. With fans assuming production on the project would begin soon, casting rumors have entered a fever pitch. One recent wave of speculation led many to believe Vanessa Kirby would be playing the MCU’s Sue Storm. While she did not deny the rumors, the Mission: Impossible – Dead Reckoning star told Comicbook.com that “it’d be an honor” to bring the Invisible Woman to life.
Vanessa Kirby isn’t the only high profile star rumored to be up for the role. Every actress from Margot Robbie to Emma Stone have all been in the spotlight at one time or another to play Sue Storm. While there’s no confirmation of when the cast of Fantastic Four will be revealed, it’s likely fans will see the MCU’s First Family somewhere at the 2023 San Diego Comic-Con.
What we know about the Fantastic Four movie
The Fantastic Four reboot is expected to be a fresh take on the classic Marvel characters, with a new cast. Matt Shakman is directing the movie from a screenplay by Josh Friedman. It is currently scheduled to hit theaters in 2025.
John Krasinski played the Earth-838 variant of Reed Richards in Sam Raimi’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, but his future as the character is currently in doubt. Krasinski’s wife Emily Blunt has said that she’s hopeful we’ll see the actor back as Richards for Fantastic Four.
