Doctor Strange director Scott Derrickson’s home was one of many destroyed in the recent fires spreading across California, though he and his family are thankfully safe.
The recent fire in California has forced many families to have to leave their homes to avoid danger. Sadly, many homes have been lost already and one of those homes belongs to Marvel Cinematic Universe director Scott Derrickson, who helmed 2016’s, Doctor Strange.
Derrickson and his family were lucky enough to make it out unharmed, but sadly their home succumbed to the raging flames. The director took to Twitter to assure everyone that he and his family were safe, though the condition of the house was another story. He also said that he’d be going offline for a while, which is pretty understandable given the situation. Check out the Tweet below.
We lost our home, but we are all safe and that’s the important thing. Gonna be offline for awhile.
— Scott Derrickson (@scottderrickson) November 9, 2018
Derrickson has been rumored to helm a sequel to Doctor Strange but nothing has been confirmed just yet. As the end of MCU Phase 3 nears, hopefully, fans will find out more about the upcoming slate sooner rather than later. Either way, we hope the best for Derrickson and other victims of the terrible fire.
We’ll be sure to keep you updated on all news regarding Doctor Strange 2 as soon as more information becomes available. Do you have any advice to those who have had their homes destroyed by the fire?
