John Cena better keep his head on a swivel! Frank Grillo has some harsh words for the Peacemaker star as filming ramps up for season 2.
Much to the joy of fans, filming has finally begun on Peacemaker season 2. John Cena is currently on location in Dallas to shoot his first few scenes. However, it seems his co-stars are busy playing up the kayfabe! Frank Grillo, who’s set to play Rick Flag Sr. in the project, recently took to social media to call out the wrestler-turned-actor as he gets ready to head to set.
“Oh hey. So I’m headed back down to Atlanta to finish Tulsa Kings,” Grillo explained in a shirtless video on Instagram. “But more important, it’s the start of Peacemaker. And I got a bone to pick with John Cena. He killed my son. Rick Flag Jr. It’s about to go down. And I’m taking him with me.”
Fans can say what they want about Frank Grillo casting-wise as Rick Flag Sr., but it’s clear that he has full dedication to his role. Given how much John Cena loves his role as Peacemaker, it’s going to be one wild ride heading into season 2. Though judging by the set photos already released from production, it may be a bloody one too!
Peacemaker Gets Bloody And Raw!
The first batch of set photos from Peacemaker Season 2 showed that trouble had already started brewing. It seems the second day of filming has brought this trouble to a head before Frank Grillo can even get on set! The newest batch of pics shows John Cena covered in blood and the ground covered in giblets from seemingly human bodies.
It wouldn’t be out of character for Peacemaker to immediately find himself in trouble heading into season 2. Which is a shame, given John Cena is clearly dressed in leisure wear indicating the character could be on vacation. Though if this means more adventures for fans’ favorite sentinel of peace, it’s a fair trade-off to make!
