‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Kristofer Hivju Tests Positive For Coronavirus

Game of Thrones and The Witcher star Kristofer Hivju has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The coronavirus continues to spread throughout Hollywood as several major actors have already been infected. Tom Hanks was one of the first to come out and announce that he had been infected. Earlier today, former James Bond girl Olga Kurylenko revealed she tested positive as well. Even Idris Elbe had been affected as well. But now the coronavirus has spread to one of Idris Elbe’s fellow Fast and Furious villains.

Kristofer Hivju is perhaps best known for his role as Tormund Giantsbane in Game of Thrones. First introduced in the show’s third season, Tormund Giantsbane was a member of the wildlings and became a friend of Jon Snow and eventually one of his most trusted allies. He quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his personality and Kristofer Hivju’s over the top yet grounded performance. Unfortunately, the Game of Thrones star and his family have a health concern at the moment.

In a new post on his Instagram account, Kristofer Hivju revealed that he had been infected by the coronavirus. He announced that he and his family would be guaranteeing themselves in order to help keep the virus from spreading and encourages others to help fight it any way they can:

Greetings from Norway! Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Corona virus. My familiy and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of a cold. There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1,5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading. Together we can fight this virus and avert a crisis at our hospitals. Please take care of each other, keep your distance, and stay healthy! Please visit your country's Center for Disease Control's website, and follow the regulations for staying safe and protecting not just yourselves, but our entire community, and especially those at risk like the elderly and people with pre-existing conditions. @grymolvaerhivju #fightcorona #solidarity #takecare #folkehelseinstituttet Thanks to @panoramaagency
