Just when you thought it was safe to go back in the water...

Godzilla vs Kong Warner Bros Legendary Monsterverse

New footage from the set of Apple TV+’s upcoming Godzilla: King of the Monsters MonsterVerse spin-off series teases the arrival of a kaiju from the depths.

The new series is set to further explore the secret organization Monarch, which has been featured in all of the MonsterVerse films so far. It is set after the events of Godzilla: King of the Monsters and prior to Godzilla vs. Kong.

The new set video shows filming taking place on Australia’s Gold Coast in Queensland, with a monster apparently emerging from the ocean.

It Came From Beneath The Sea

The footage from the set of the Godzilla spin-off series shows the Gold Coast doubling for Brazil’s Rio de Janeiro, with Brazilian flags dotted along the set, along with Brazilian police and military forces.

In the footage, extras can be seen being directed to watch in horror as a monster – to be added in later as a CGI element – rises from the sea. The extras then scream in terror and run from the unseen kaiju. It is not clear which monster is appearing in the scene, or whether it will even be one monster movie fans are familiar with.
