A new empire is set to rise in the Monsterverse. Warner Bros. has released a brand new teaser for the next MonsterVerse movie, revealing the title and release date for the next Godzilla and King Kong crossover.
The next film in the Monsterverse franchise is named Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire, with the project serving as a continuation to the story of 2021’s Godzilla vs Kong. The film is set to hit theaters on March 15, 2024. While details about the film are scarce, a new teaser has been released, teasing destruction at the hands of Kong:
This isn’t the only product Warner Bros. has developed to support the Monsterverse. A Godzilla spin-off show for Apple TV is currently in the works, taking place between the events of Godzilla: King of the Monsters and Godzilla vs Kong. The series currently has no release date.
A New Empire Rises In The Monsterverse
Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire will serve as the next film in the Monsterverse and will continue the story from 2021’s Godzilla vs Kong. The film is set to release in theaters on March 15, 2024.
Additionally, a currently untitled MonsterVerse series is in development at Apple TV. The show will follow the story of one family with links to Monarch. Father-and-son Kurt and Wyatt Russell were recently confirmed to be appearing in the series, which is being produced by Legendary Television. Here is the synopsis for the series:
Following the thunderous battle between Godzilla and the Titans that leveled San Francisco and the shocking new reality that monsters are real, the series explores one family’s journey to uncover its buried secrets and a legacy linking them to the secret organization known as Monarch.
Created by Matt Fraction and Chris Black, the upcoming series stars Kurt Russell, Wyatt Russell, Anna Sawai, Ren Watabe, Kiersey Clemons, Joe Tippett, and Elisa Lasowski. WandaVision‘s Matthew Shakman is directing two episodes of the series. Safehouse Pictures’ Tory Tunnell and Joby Harold along with Toho Co.’s Hiro Matsuoka and Takemasa Arita are also on board as executive producers.
