Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 serves as James Gunn’s final goodbye to the team and to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. However, with much of the Guardians cast following him over to DC Studios, Chris Pratt has joked that he could play the next Batman.
If there are only three things inevitable in life it’s death, taxes, and Chris Pratt starring in franchise films. From the recent Super Mario Bros. Movie to Jurassic World and even the upcoming Garfield film, the Guardians of the Galaxy star just can’t seem to stay away from franchise roles. With James Gunn moving over to the DCU, many fans expect, and some fear, that Pratt will find his way into a role there as well. There’s even some speculation he’d be taking up the role of the Caped Crusader in Batman: The Brave and The Bold. Both Gunn and Pratt poked fun at this speculation during a recent interview where Pratt gave his best Batman voice:
While it’s likely Chris Pratt will find his way into the DCU somehow, it seems as though neither him nor James Gunn are exactly serious about him taking up the mantle of Batman in The Brave and the Bold. Given Pratt’s experience as a comedic actor in roles such as Guardians of the Galaxy, it’s much more likely he’ll end up as a character like Booster Gold. Though considering the role seems to be on Gunn’s radar, fans may need to start a campaign for Pratt as Catwoman!

The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 synopsis reads as follows: “Our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”
