Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 serves as the swan song for James Gunn’s time in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Despite this, Vol. 3 features a number of cameos from actors in his DC Universe projects, including The Suicide Squad actor Pete Davidson!
It’s no secret that James Gunn, like many directors, plays favorites with his actors. Sean Gunn, Michael Rooker and Nathan Fillion are in nearly all of his films, with their cameos in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 not being hard to spot. The film also features his wife Jennifer Holland, who played Emilia Harcourt in The Suicide Squad and its HBO Max spin-off Peacemaker. Now, Pete Davidson is the Suicide Squad alum in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Check out his cameo below.
Judging by his outfit in the Tweet, its likely that Pete Davidson played a member of the High Evolutionary’s guards. James Gunn teases you’ll have to look closely to find him, though that’s likely because all of the guards were wearing helmets, making it an almost impossible cameo to find without being told where to look. The cameo appears to be, much like many other parts of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, a choice made out of love. It’s no wonder why fans see this film as having so much heart.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 stars Chris Pratt, Zoe Saldaña, Dave Bautista, Vin Diesel, Bradley Cooper, Karen Gillan, Pom Klementieff, Elizabeth Debicki, Sean Gunn, Sylvester Stallone, Will Poulter, Chukwudi Iwuji and Maria Bakalova.
The Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 synopsis reads as follows: “Our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere, but it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”
