Is Kate Bishop in for a big reunion in the MCU? Hawkeye star Hailee Steinfeld reveals her desire to team up with Florence Pugh once more!
While it wasn’t much respected at the time, in hindsight, Hawkeye has gone down as one of the best projects that the MCU has put on Disney Plus. Not only did it feature a stellar setting and a fun story, but it featured absolutely electric chemistry between its main cast. And perhaps no two characters had more chemistry than Hailee Steinfeld’s Kate Bishop and Florence Pugh’s Yelena Belova.
This has left many fans wondering if the two characters would only ever meet once in the MCU. With Hawkeye season 2 nowhere on the horizon and Kate Bishop (seemingly) absent from Thunderbolts, fans aren’t exactly sure where the two could meet again. However, even if the path isn’t clear, Hailee Steinfeld is certainly hoping to reunite with Florence Pugh on the silver screen.
“So Florence came in, and we had these scenes that were very heavy on the dialogue, and so we got right to work with the dynamic and how we could make it sort of flow as best as it could. We hit it off immediately, and we just had the best time together.”
“She’s wonderful,” Steinfeld told Collider. “I would do anything to work more with Florence, especially in the Kate and Yelena world. I think we’d have a lot of fun.”
Will Kate Bishop & Yelena Belova Reunite?
While a second season of Hawkeye would have been the most likely place for Kate Bishop and Yelena Belova to square-off once more, it’s not the only place the two could come to blows. Notably, the only MCU project Hailee Steinfeld seems poised to return in at this current time is the long-rumored Young Avengers project. While not exactly a perfect fit for a Black Widow, it could be an opportunity for a fun cameo.
It’s also possible that the two reunite in Avengers: Doomsday. Florence Pugh is already confirmed for the cast. And given most Avengers films have a Hawkeye on the roster, it wouldn’t be shocking for Hailee Steinfeld to at least make a small appearance as Kate Bishop. And given it’s the turning of a new era for the MCU, it’d be nice to see a Hawkeye and Black Widow duo back on the big screen.
