Harley Quinn Actress Margot Robbie To Earn $50 Million For ‘Barbie’ Triumph

A historic payday!

Barbie Margot Robbie

It truly is a Barbie World. Harley Quinn actress Margot Robbie is set to earn over $50 million for her leading role in Barbie following its success, making it a historic payday.

It was no secret that Barbie would be a hit at the box office given Greta Gerwig’s track record with stellar feminist pieces and Margot Robbie being one of the most in-demand actresses in Hollywood (in no small part thanks to her role as Harley Quinn). Her popularity is reflected in her pay, with Variety reporting the star earned a $50 million dollar base salary for the film, not including residuals.

This salary puts the Harley Quinn actress above the payday for even Iron Man, with Robert Downey Jr. getting only $20 million for Avengers: Endgame, albeit he earned over double that from residuals. Though with Barbie already entering the Billion Dollar club and showing no signs of stopping soon, it’s possible Margot Robbie will end up outearning almost all of her male contemporarieis with this single film.

It’s A Barbie World

Barbie stars Margot Robbie as the titular doll alongside Ryan Gosling’s Ken in Greta Gerwig’s blockbuster debut. Based on the popular Mattel brand, the film surpassed all expectations of success, making Gerwig the first female director to have their film reach a billion dollars.

The film’s synopsis reads: “Barbie and Ken are having the time of their lives in the colorful and seemingly perfect world of Barbie Land. However, when they get a chance to go to the real world, they soon discover the joys and perils of living among humans.”

Alongside Ryan Gosling and Margot Robbie, the cast includes Will Ferrell, John Cena, Simu Liu, America Ferrera, Ariana Greenblatt, Ncuti Gatwa, Emma Mackey, Alexandra Shipp, Michael Cera, Issa Rae, Kingsley Ben-Adir, Rhea Perlman, Kate McKinnon, Dua Lipa and Helen Mirren.

Barbie is now playing in theaters.
