The writers of the adult animated series Harley Quinn are hopeful for a Season 4 renewal.

In the last few weeks, the state of film and television based on DC Comics has been in a bit of a whirlwind. When the news first dropped that the Batgirl film was cancelled despite being nearly-completed, questions regarding the rest of the DC slate arose, with some worried about the future of the fan-favorite animated series, Harley Quinn.

Harley Quinn, which features the voice of The Big Bang Theory and The Flight Attendant star Kaley Cuoco as the titular character, has received praise from critics and fans alike for its irreverent take on the DC Universe through the eyes of one Dr. Harleen Quinzel. Given questions regarding Warner Bros. Discovery’s sights to restructure their approach to DC Comics media, the fate of this beloved series remains in question, but the creators are still hopeful for a fourth season.

The future of Harley Quinn

Patrick Schumacker and Justin Halpern, who serve as Executive Producers and developed the Harley Quinn series told The Wrap that they remain hopeful for the future of the series, regardless of concerns over the new regime at Warner Bros. Discovery:

Patrick Schumacker: We’re very hopeful. I think we feel pretty good. We’re hopeful.

Justin Halpern: It feels like people are liking the show. We don’t know, but we feel from the vibes we’re getting from the executives and people like that around the show that it’s doing well for them. I feel like it’s got a hardcore fanbase and I don’t feel like DC has a lot of other shows that are like it. So if ours was to go away, I think it would leave a big hole. We feel hopeful.
