It seems as though The Dark Knight is a truly fractally interesting film, with there being no end to the details that can be unearthed from Christopher Nolan’s masterpiece. Fifteen years after its release, new behind-the-scenes photos reveal Heath Ledger putting on his own makeup as the Joker:
It’s currently unclear exactly where these behind-the-scenes photos from The Dark Knight came from. However, The Batman Film News account on X seems to be in the process of getting better scans of the images. Hopefully once they do, this interesting piece of history about Heath Ledger’s Joker can be preserved properly.
The future of The Batman series
The first movie ended with Batman apprehending the Riddler, who has flooded Gotham City, though details about Part II are currently scarce. Matt Reeves is co-writing the script of the sequel with Mattson Tomlin.
The heads of DC Studios recently revealed that The Batman: Part II is set to hit theaters on October 2025. The first movie earned $770.8 million at the worldwide box office, a figure that makes it the seventh highest-grossing movie of 2022.
