See Henry Cavill’s Superman In The ‘Action Comics #1’ Costume

Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No! It's a classic costume.

Henry Cavill Superman Action Comics

Justice League star Henry Cavill dons the iconic Action Comics #1 Superman costume in an impressive new concept design for the DC Extended Universe.

Like most superheroes, Superman has been given his fair share of colorful and inventive outfits over the years, but his iconic symbol started out vastly different than what it is today. On the front cover of Action Comics #1, the Last Son of Krypton is seen with a golden shield design on his chest featuring a red “S.” And although the symbol has had many redesigns, a cool concept design pays homage to Superman’s origins by giving Henry Cavill’s suit an old-school makeover.

The artwork from digital artist ‘jscomicart’ imagines Henry Cavill’s Superman with the golden shield on his chest with the red”S,” but keeps in line with the rest of the modern costume, featuring the textured pattern woven into the suit. The fan edit also adds a colorful flair to the classic duds Cavill first wore in 2013’s Man of Steel, changing the gold piping on his suit to red alongside an outline to the cuffs. The bulk of the suit is much deeper blue than the metallic design we saw in the Zack Snyder film. Take a look at Henry Cavill’s Superman in the Action Comics #1 suit below.
