See Henry Cavill As Marvel’s Hyperion For ‘Loki’ Season 2 In New Image

From one Superman to another.

While Henry Cavill’s future as DC’s Superman remains uncertain, a new concept design sees him becoming Marvel’s own version of Superman, Hyperion, for Loki Season 2.

Hyperion was introduced to Marvel’s comic continuity as a member of the Squadron Supreme – a team of superheroes from Earth-712, who were deliberately designed as an imitation of DC’s Justice League. Rumors have suggested Hyperion could make his MCU debut in Loki, with Superman actor Henry Cavill portraying the character.

A new piece of concept artwork shows what Cavill might look like as the MCU’s Hyperion in the upcoming second season of Loki.

From Superman To Squadron Supreme

Given Hyperion’s comic book origins as an imitation of Superman, Henry Cavill’s casting in the role could be a stroke of genius on Marvel’s part.

Since before Loki‘s first season arrived on Disney Plus, rumors have suggested the Squadron Supreme could make their MCU debut in the series. After the first season of Loki saw the birth of the Multiverse, it looks likely Season 2 will delve deeper into Marvel’s alternate universes, meaning an appearance from Hyperion would make sense.

Check out the new concept design showing Henry Cavill as Loki‘s Hyperion, shared by artist “clements.ink” on Instagram, below:

In his Marvel comic appearances, Hyperion is the last surviving Eternal of his universe. The costume designed for Henry Cavill in the image above definitely honors this note in the character’s origin, clearly borrowing some design influences from the costumes worn in the MCU movie Eternals.

Even if only as a cameo, an appearance from Henry Cavill as Hyperion would be a welcome addition to Loki Season 2.

Here is the synopsis for the first season of the Disney Plus series, Loki:

In Marvel Studios’ “Loki,” the mercurial villain Loki (Tom Hiddleston) resumes his role as the God of Mischief in a new series that takes place after the events of “Avengers: Endgame.”

Directed by Kate Herron, with Michael Waldron serving as head writer, Loki stars Tom Hiddleston, Sophia Di Martino, Owen Wilson, and Gugu Mbatha-Raw.

Loki Season 2 will premiere next summer on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news on the future of Loki, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
