Henry Cavill’s Superman Not Expected To Appear In Dwayne Johnson’s ‘Black Adam’

Henry Cavill’s Superman isn’t expected to appear opposite Dwayne Johnson in the Black Adam solo movie.

Although DC fans were overjoyed to hear that Henry Cavill is in talks to return to the DC Extended Universe to play Superman again across multiple movies, the star won’t appear in Black Adam to face off against Dwayne Johnson. Originally, Cavill’s Superman was previously set to appear in Shazam! for a longer cameo in the film’s final scene, but due to a scheduling conflict, the star wasn’t able to briefly reprise the role.

Variety’s Justin Kroll recently reported that Superman will return in cameo appearances across future movies where he has a tie with the titular characters, suggesting both Aquaman 2 and Shazam 2 as potential options. Kroll also pointed out that his sources say the star won’t appear in Dwayne Johnson’s Black Adam or Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman. This is certainly disappointing to hear, as Johnson recently suggested that fans could see a showdown between the two at some point.

Are you excited to see Henry Cavill’s Superman show up in other DCEU movies? Or are you disappointed that he won’t appear in Johnson’s Black Adam? Sound-off in the comments!

Henry Cavill was last seen as Superman in Justice League. Here’s the official synopsis for the movie:

Fueled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Directed by Zack Snyder, Justice League stars Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Gal Gadot, Ezra Miller, Jason Momoa, Ray Fisher, Jeremy Irons, Diane Lane, Connie Nielsen, J. K. Simmons, and Ciarán Hinds.
