The first official synospis for Henry Cavill’s The Witcher season two is here.

Netflix has released a synopsis for the second season of its live-action adaptation of The Witcher, a book series created by Polish author Andrzej Sapkowski. Starring Henry Cavill, The Witcher follows the adventures of Geralt of Rivia as he navigates a medievial world known as The Continent.

After revealing the first images of returning cast members Henry Cavill and Freya Allan, Netflix has dropped a synopsis that teases the events of The Witcher season two. Season one ended with Cavill’s Geralt of Rivia meeting Allan’s Ciri, something that was teased throughout the first few episodes of the series. Check out the synopsis below.

“Convinced Yennefer’s life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt of Rivia brings Princess Cirilla to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen. While the Continent’s kings, elves, humans and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power she possesses inside.”

Production on the second season of The Witcher is currently underway, with Netflix taking several measures to protect its cast and crew members from the coronavirus. Henry Cavill recently shared a behind-the-scenes photo from season two, showing makeup and hairstylists working on his look.

The Witcher stars Henry Cavill as Geralt of Rivia, Freya Allan as Ciri, Anya Chalotra as Yennefer, Jodhi May as Queen Calanthe, Bjorn Hlynur Haraldsson as Eist, Adam Levy as Mousesack, MyAnna Buring as Aretuza, and Millie Brady as Princess Renfri, with Mimi Ndiweni and Therica Wilson-Read as novice sorcerers.
