A Hulk movie may finally be on its way! A new rumor suggests that everyone’s favorite Green Goliath may be looking a greyer in his next MCU outing.
The rumor of there being a Hulk solo film have been swirling ever since Namor made his debut in the MCU. The two share very similar struggles when it comes to who owns their rights. Seeing the King of Atlantis make his debut on the silver screen gave fans hope that the studio may have finally found a way to make a movie based on the Hulk after nearly 20 years of only crossover content.
This has only been bolstered by a recent rumor from Alex Perez. The Cosmic Circus contributor revealed in their monthly Q&A that they wouldn’t be surprised to see a Hulk solo-film enter development soon. When asked if the project would combine elements of Hulk vs Wolverine and World War Hulk, the scooper simply stated that he didn’t think it’d be a smart idea to combine those two iconic storylines in the proposed film.
Joe Fixit Makes His MCU Debut
While Perez didn’t expand much further on the rumor, he did leave fans with a tease that fans should face problems head-on and “Fixit”, serving as a clear hint at plans for the Hulk’s criminal mastermind alter ego Joe Fixit. This is a storyline born from a spell that promised to dispel the Hulk from his Bruce Banner persona completely, suggesting a flip on the current paradigm for the character in the MCU.
Of course, fitting Joe Fixit and either World War Hulk or Hulk vs Wolverine into a single film would be a goliath of an undertaking. However, given how long the character has been in the MCU without his own solo project, the franchise has a lot to catch up on. Though if this rumor is true, it wouldn’t be shocking if the Joe Fixit storyline is used as a soft reset on the character to wrap up Mark Ruffalo’s time as the hero and bring in a new actor when Bruce Banner returns.
