Idris Elba’s Bloodsport in The Suicide Squad will have a connection to Superman in the upcoming James Gunn DC film.

During The Suicide Squad panel at DC FanDome, James Gunn finally revealed the supervillain roster for Task Force X in the upcoming film. One of the most surprising reveals was that Idris Elba will be playing Bloodsport, not Bronze Tiger or The Vigilante like fans have speculated. It was also revealed during a game of trivia with the cast that Idris Elba’s Bloodsport is actually in prison due to shooting Superman with a kryptonite bullet.

In the first Suicide Squad film, there were several members on the team that were put into prison from the likes of Batman and The Flash. It’s clear that James Gunn will be connecting to the greater DC Universe and this Superman connect with Idris Elba’s Bloodsport is surely the just one of the many that we can expect.

What are your thoughts on this connection? Do you think Superman will be in the film? What other DC connections do you hope to see? Let us know in the comments section below!

The first Suicide Squad followed a team of supervillains who were recruited by the government for a dangerous black ops mission in exchange for reduced sentences. The ensemble cast included Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Jared Leto as The Joker. However, James Gunn is expected to deliver on the fresh take on the team in his upcoming movie.

Written and directed by James Gunn, The Suicide Squad stars David Dastmalchian, John Cena, Jai Courtney, Joaquín Cosío, Nathan Fillion, Joel Kinnaman, Mayling Ng, Flula Borg, Sean Gunn, Juan Diego Botto, Storm Reid, Pete Davidson, Taika Waititi, Alice Braga, Steve Agee, Tinashe Kajese, Daniela Melchior, Peter Capaldi, Julio Ruiz, Jennifer Holland, Viola Davis, Idris Elba, Margot Robbie, and Michael Rooker.

James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad is currently set to be released on August 6, 2021. Stay tuned for all the latest news on James Gunn’s The Suicide Squad and be sure to subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content!
