The Suicide Squad director James Gunn revealed an impressive look at the villain team-up movie during the DC FanDome panel.
The stunning first look at The Suicide Squad reveals the whole cast and plenty of the action which awaits fans when the film arrives in theaters in 2021. It focuses on behind-the-scenes glimpses of some incredible set pieces while also highlighting the insane and bizarre crew of villains that James Gunn has assembled for the team-up movie. And after watching the footage, it’s easy to see where the director is coming from when he says “it’s going to be different than any other superhero movie ever made.”
The new featurette arrived shortly after the roll-call of characters revealed exactly who’s playing who in The Suicide Squad. Producer Peter Safran describes the film as a “1970s war movie” and with the huge scope of the action and fight scenes in the featurette, it’s hard to disagree with him. It’s definitely going to be absurd and twisted, but many fans have already fallen in love with this strange collection of characters – especially Sean Gunn’s Weasel. The first Suicide Squad followed a team of supervillains who were recruited by the government for a dangerous black ops mission in exchange for reduced sentences. The ensemble cast included Will Smith as Deadshot, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, and Jared Leto as The Joker. However, James Gunn is expected to deliver on the fresh take on the team in his upcoming movie.
