‘Ms. Marvel’ Star Iman Vellani Shares Her Reaction To That Big Finale Reveal

Major spoilers for the finale ahead!

Iman Vellani Ms. Marvel Kamala MCU Kevin Feige

Ms. Marvel star Iman Vellani shared her reaction to learning about the big reveal in the show’s finale.

There was a lot of talk leading up to Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel about the series altering her powers and origin. In the comics, Kamala Khan becomes an Inhuman after being exposed to Terrigen Mist from a bomb. Towards the end of the Ms. Marvel finale, it is revealed by Bruno that Kamala is a mutant.

This is a groundbreaking reveal since it marks the first time the mutants have been acknowledged in the MCU’s 616. It’s no secret Iman Vellani is a massive fan of the MCU, and she revealed to Marvel.com what her reaction was to the big mutant twist when she found out:

“They sent me, and only me, the draft [of the final episode], and I immediately freaked out. I emailed Kevin Feige in all caps. I was like, are you doing this like for real? Are you sure? I’m so honored! I was like yelling at him through an email. I was freaking out. This is the biggest deal in the world, and the fact that it’s happening in our show is crazy.”

Are We Finally Getting the MCU’s X-Men?

Marvel fans have been anxiously awaiting the inclusion of the X-Men and mutants in the MCU. After some false flags with Ralph Boner in WandaVision and Professor X in Doctor Strange 2, Marvel Studios might be finally gearing up for a big announcement at San Diego Comic-Con next week.

Here is the synopsis for Iman Vellani’s Ms. Marvel:

Marvel Studios’ “Ms. Marvel” is a new, original series that introduces Kamala Khan, a Muslim American teenager growing up in Jersey City. An avid gamer and a voracious fan-fiction scribe, Kamala is a Super Hero mega fan with an oversized imagination—particularly when it comes to Captain Marvel. Yet Kamala feels like she doesn’t fit in at school and sometimes even at home—that is, until she gets super powers like the heroes she’s always looked up to. Life gets better with super powers, right?

The series stars Iman Vellani, Aramis Knight, Saagar Shaikh, Rish Shah, Matt Lintz, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Fawad Khan, Mehwish Hayat, and Farhan Akhtar. Episodes of the series were directed by Adil El Arbi & Bilall Fallah, Meera Menon, and Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, with Bisha K. Ali serving as the head writer. Marvel’s Kevin Feige is involved in the series as an executive producer.

Ms. Marvel is now streaming on Disney Plus. Stay tuned for all the latest news surrounding the future of the mutants in the MCU, and subscribe to our YouTube channel for more original video content.
