‘Indiana Jones’: New TV Series In Early Development At Disney Plus

An Indiana Jones series could be coming to Disney Plus.

Walt Disney Studios and Lucasfilm are looking to develop a television series set within the world of Indiana Jones, as reported by Variety. Things are still at an early stage as the two studios have yet to find a writer to take on the project, which would premiere on the Disney Plus streaming service.

Harrison Ford is set to return as Indiana Jones for a new movie from Ford v Ferrari and Logan helmer James Mangold. Ford has stated that the yet-to-be titled feature is his final one as Indiana Jones, but Disney is hoping to keep the franchise alive through other projects.

Indiana Jones and his history on TV

If a television series ends up moving forward, Indiana Jones would be returning to the small screen for the first time since the 1990s. The character was previously the face of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles on ABC, as well as four television specials from the Family Channel, the network that is now known as Freeform. Harrison Ford made an apppearance in one episode of The Young Indiana Jones Chronicles, which also starred Sean Patrick Flanery, Corey Carrier and George Hall, with the four actors playing the titular hero across various stages of his life.

In addition to Harrison Ford, Indiana Jones 5 also stars Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Thomas Kretschmann, Boyd Holbrook, Shaunette Renée Wilson and Toby Jones. James Mangold co-wrote the script alongside Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth.
