Lin-Manuel Miranda has joined the highly-anticipated Percy Jackson series at Disney Plus.

Deadline has revealed that Lin-Manuel Miranda (Hamilton, In the Heights) has signed on to guest star in Percy Jackson and the Olympians, a new Disney Plus series based on the Camp Half-Blood Chronicles by author Rick Riordan. Miranda is playing Hermes, the messenger God.

Who else is attached to the Percy Jackson series?

Walker Scobell is leading the cast of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series as the titular demigod. Leah Jeffries and Aryan Simhadri are co-starring as his best friends Annabeth Chase and Grover Underwood. The full cast also includes Virginia Kull, Glynn Turman, Jason Mantzoukas, Megan Mullally, Timm Sharp, Dior Goodjohn, Charlie Bushnell, Olivea Morton, Adam Copeland, Suzanne Cryer and Jessica Parker Kennedy.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians follows Walker Scobell’s Percy Jackson as he ventures across America in search of Zeus’s lost lightning bolt, having been accused of stealing it himself. Percy is a demigod, the son of Greek god Poseidon, who unites with other demigods in Camp Half-Blood.

The first official trailer for Percy Jackson and the Olympians made its debut during Disney’s D23 Expo, giving fans a sneak peek at the series. It’s the second adaptation of the Percy Jackson books after a film series that starred Logan Lerman, Alexandra Daddario and Brandon T. Jackson.

Percy Jackson author Rick Riordan wrote the pilot of the Disney Plus series alongisde Jon Steinberg, with James Bobin directing. Steinberg is also overseeing the series with his producing partner Dan Shotz. It is being produced under 20th Television for Disney Plus.
