The first official set photo of the cast for upcoming Disney Plus series Percy Jackson and the Olympians has been released to coincide with the title character’s birthday.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians is a brand new live-action adaptation of the book series of the same name. The series was previously adapted as a short-lived film series, with a first film releasing in 2010 followed by a sequel in 2013.

The series will stream on Disney Plus and see The Adam Project star Walker Scobell playing the role of Percy Jackson.

First Look At The New Percy Jackson

Fans of the book series will know Percy Jackson’s birthday is on August 18th and so, to mark the occasion, the first official photo of the main cast on the Disney Plus series’ set has been unveiled.

The new image shows Walker Scobell alongside Leah Jeffries, who plays Annabeth Chase in the series, and Aryan Simhadri, who plays Grover Underwood. The photo marks the first official look at the cast of Percy Jackson and the Olympians on set and in costume.

Percy Jackson and the Olympians follows Scobell’s Percy Jackson as he ventures across America in search of Zeus’s lost lightning bolt, having been accused of stealing it himself. Percy is a demigod, the son of Greek god Poseidon, who unites with other demigods in Camp Half-Blood.

Original author Rick Riordan and Jon Steinberg are writing the pilot for Percy Jackson and the Olympians, with James Bobin directing. It is being produced under 20th Television.
