Invincible has been a smash hit for Amazon Studios, taking the internet by storm with both memes and praise. The comic’s creator, Robert Kirkman, reveals how many seasons he aims to get with the show.
Amazon Studios’ Invincible adaptation has been successful beyond their dreams, with fans frothing at the mouth for the show’s second season. However, some fans of the comic worry about how much of the story they’ll get through given how little the show has covered so far. According to the comic’s creator Robert Kirkman, he hopes to have enough time to tell the whole story, likely ranging from seven to eight seasons:
“I’m trying not to pin it down to a number, because it is somewhat of a moving target,” Kirkman told Polygon. “I think in the seven-to-eight-season range seems like it would be enough. But there could be some things we move through a little faster, some things we expand.”
“If we’re fortunate enough to go for a good long time, I think that would be enough to cover the entire comic. And there are some things along the way that didn’t get into the comic that I’d like to do. I think it’d be cool to have some episodes here and there that are completely original. So that’s part of the plan moving forward.”
With an over 2 year wait for just the second season of Invincible, Robert Kirkman certainly has high hopes for how long the show will last. Though, like with any show, it’s likely the production of each season speeds up as the cast and crew find their groove. The only qustion is if Amazon Studios is in it for the long haul, since the fans are here to stay!
