The Monkey’s Paw curls once again for Danny Rand fans. It seems a new project featuring Iron Fist s in the works for the Marvel Cinematic Universe, though Rand will only play a supporting role.
With The Defenders universe recently becoming canon to the MCU, fans have been waiting on any news about an Iron Fist project making its way over after the lackluster series starring Finn Jones as Danny Rand. According to Hollywood insider DanielRPK, Marvel is working on a new Iron Fist series, but it will focus on a new female version of the hero, with Danny Rand only playing a supporting role.
Given season 2 of Netflix’s Iron Fist ended with Finn Jones’ Danny Rand giving up his mantle to Colleen Wing, it’s not surprising the MCU would want to continue in that direction in a potential reboot. There are plenty of women in the comics who can wield the Iron Fist as well, from Danny’s mentee Pei to the Phoenix Fongji Wu. However, which candidate Marvel may go with is a mystery for now.
Could Finn Jones Return As Iron Fist In The MCU?
With Marvel’s Netflix shows being made canon, the doors have been blown wide open for any former hero to make their way to the MCU. While Charlie Cox has already made the jump, returning as Matt Murdock in Spider-Man: No Way Home and Echo, Finn Jones has also expressed interest in returning as Iron Fist, hoping to redeem the character in the eyes of fans.
Iron Fist starred Finn Jones as the titular hero Danny Rand, Jessica Henwick as Colleen Wing, as well as Sacha Dhawan, Tom Pelphrey, Jessica Stroup, Simone Missick, and Alice Eve.
Iron Fist is available to stream on Disney Plus. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for all the latest news surrounding the future of the Netflix characters in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and subscribe to Heroic Hollywood’s YouTube channel for more original video content.
