The first stills from James Cameron’s long-awaited Avatar: The Way of Water have surfaced the web.

Roughly 13 years since the release of the original film, James Cameron’s highly-anticipated sequel Avatar: The Way of Water will finally hit theaters this holiday season. The film looks to pick up years after the original, in which Jake Sully (Sam Worthington) and Neytiri (Zoe Saldana) have a family of their own.

The first official teaser trailer for Avatar 2 was screened for attendees at CinemaCon earlier this week, showcasing the footage from James Cameron‘s sequel in 3D, which the original 2009 film helped pioneer in bringing to new heights. Although audiences won’t be able to get their first look at the trailer until next weekend when it debuts exclusively in theaters with Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness prior to hitting the internet, images from the film have surfaced the web.
