It seems no rumor can escape the hammer of justice that is James Gunn! The DC Studios co-head recently took to social media to crack down on recent rumors surrounding the villains of The Batman: Part II.
Rumors about The Batman: Part II have finally taken flight, with one particular report gaining a lot of traction in the last few days. The rumor, started by Hollywood insider DanielRPK, claims that Clayface, Scarecrow, and Professor Pyg will all have roles in the project alongside Dick Grayson as Robin and Hush. However, according to James Gunn, the claims are “Totally made up.”
While it’s unclear how much of the rumor is false, at the very least fans shouldn’t expect Professor Pyg, Scarecrow, or Clayface to play any significant role in the upcoming film. While it’s possible the Dick Grayson version of Robin and Hush may appear in The Batman: Part II, DC fans should probably start from scratch when it comes to speculation about the sequel’s villain.
The Future of Robert Pattinson’s Batman Series
The first movie ended with Batman apprehending the Riddler, who has flooded Gotham City, though details about Part II are currently scarce. Matt Reeves is co-writing the script of the sequel with Mattson Tomlin.
The heads of DC Studios recently revealed that The Batman: Part II is set to hit theaters on October 2025. The first movie earned $770.8 million at the worldwide box office, a figure that makes it the seventh highest-grossing movie of 2022.
