Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 director James Gunn explained that his Peacemaker series won’t get in the way of the upcoming Marvel movie.

Following the surprising news that James Gunn has written a Peacemaker series spinning out of The Suicide Squad for John Cena, the director has clarified that the new project won’t affect his commitment to Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Since The Suicide Squad will be heavily R-rated according to Joel Kinnaman, many fans are hoping that Gunn’s series for HBO Max will be equally as violent. But one Twitter user was concerned that the director’s new DC project could get in the way of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.

When asked by a fan if the Peacemaker series will delay the Marvel Studios movie, James Gunn clarified that because of the pandemic he wrote a TV series and that it’ll be produced in the time before he starts work on Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The director noted that he would usually take a break, but in an earlier tweet, he’d explained that DC approached him about any other ideas he’d had. Take a look at Gunn’s tweets below.
