James Gunn Reveals Disappointing Detail About Wonder Woman’s Casting In The DC Universe

Can the DCU find the perfect Wonder Woman?

Wonder Woman DC Studios DC universe reboot

The DC Universe might not be able to find the perfect Wonder Woman! James Gunn admits there may be a hitch in casting the Princess of Themyscira to fans’ liking.

With DC Universe casting announcements slowly picking up speed, fans have been coming up with their wishlists for certain characters like Batman and Wonder Woman. One particular element has stuck out as one fans want James Gunn to make come true for the Knight Eternal: they want her to be taller than Batman and Superman.

Sadly, this seems to be an element James Gunn might not be able to accomplish in the DC Universe. When responding to a fan on social media, Gunn admitted that he would likely struggle to find an actress taller than David Corenswet, who sits at a staggering 6’3, and who also has a resume befitting of playing one of the most beloved superheroes in history with Wonder Woman.

Wonder Woman’s Future In The DC Universe

While there’s no word on who could be cast as Wonder Woman in the DC Universe, it’s clear that James Gunn has the Admirable Amazonian on the top of mind. He recently revealed that progress is being made on Paradise Lost, a prequel series focused on the character’s homeland of Themyscira.

James Gunn himself has also put Wonder Woman adjacent characters into DC Universe projects. Last year it was revealed that Anya Chalotra would be playing the villain Circe in Creature Commandos, making her one of the first new characters cast in the upcoming reboot. So even though they may not be able to cast a true Amazon in the role, it’s clear Gunn is taking care to do the character justice.

Paradise Lost currently has a series order for Max. Stay tuned for the latest news regarding the future of the DC Universe and make sure to subscribe to our YouTube channel for more content!
