Jamie Foxx is returning as Electro for Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 3.

The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Jamie Foxx is set to reprise his role as Electro for Tom Holland’s third cinematic solo outing as Spider-Man. Foxx played the iconic Marvel villain in 2014’s The Amazing Spider-Man 2, which starred Andrew Garfield as the wall-crawler. Garfield was recast with Holland when Peter Parker joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

The plot of Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 3 is being kept under wraps. In addition to Holland, Spider-Man 3 is expected to see the return of Zendaya, Marisa Tomei, Jacob Batalon and Tony Revolori. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are on board as producers.

Tom Holland’s Spider-Man 3 is expected to begin production this fall. The film was originally slated to hit theaters in July 2021 before being delayed due to the coronavirus pandemic. It’s currently scheduled for December 17, 2021.

Following the events of Avengers: Endgame, Peter Parker (Tom Holland) returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks is quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks. Spider-Man and Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) join forces to fight the havoc unleashed across the continent but all is not as it seems.

Directed by Jon Watts from a script written by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, Spider-Man: Far From Home stars Tom Holland, Jake Gyllenhaal, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Tony Revolori, Martin Starr, Numan Acar, J.B. Smoove, Oli Hill, Remy Hii, Marisa Tomei, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Cobie Smulders, and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.
