New details for Jared Leto’s Morbius have emerged, revealing the film’s main villain.
Sony has recently released two films that were enjoyed and praised by many. Venom and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse were big hits among fans with some claiming that Into the Spider-Verse is one of if not the best Spider-Man films ever. Venom was a huge hit at the box office with a greater focus on the iconic Spider-Man villain and now we can look forward to another Spider-Man villain’s story in this new upcoming film.
Jared Leto is on board as the main character Dr. Michael Morbius along with Adria Arjona, Matt Smith, Jared Harris, and Tyrese Gibson. Adria Arjona will be appearing as Jared Leto’s love interest as Martine Bancroft. Tyrese Gibson will be portraying an FBI agent who is hunting down the living vampire. Jared Harris has been revealed to portray the mentor of Morbius. We also now know the film’s villain.
Matt Smith will be portraying the film’s main villain, Loxias Crown. Details about the film reveal that Loxias Crown has the same blood disease that Jared Leto’s Dr. Michael Morbius is suffering from. Morbius attempts to cure himself from this disease, leading to disastrous results. Morbius is one of many Spider-Man villains that have captured the attention of many due to his backstory as he is not always a villain, but more of an anti-ero.

The film will be based on the Marvel comic Morbius the Living Vampire featuring the popular anti-hero who first appeared in The Amazing Spider-Man #101. In the comics, the famed scientist Dr. Michael Morbius attempted to cure himself of a rare blood disease and consequently developed a form of vampirism instead.
Directed Daniel Espinosa, Morbius stars Jared Leto, Matt Smith, Adria Arjona, Jared Harris, and Tyrese Gibson.
