Is Jason Momoa perfect for the Main Man? The Lobo actor reveals new details about what his character will look like in the upcoming Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow film.
Everyone knows the story by now. Jason Momoa, once the beloved Defender of the Deep, has finally been cast as Lobo in the DC Universe after years of begging by fans (and himself). However, despite this fairy tale ending for the actor, there’s still very little fans know about his interpretation of the character. This is especially shocking as Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow has been filming for over two months! Somehow, James Gunn and Peter Safran have brought the Marvel Ninjas out in full force for their side of the aisle.
Yet little doesn’t mean nothing. Jason Momoa has been tipping his hand a bit in recent weeks as he works his way through the press tour of A Minecraft Movie. While he obviously couldn’t say much about Lobo’s role in Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, he did give fans some hints about what comic book elements will carry over into the new DC Universe. Namely, that the fraggin’ Bastich himself will be saying his iconic catch phrases throughout the film.
“We’ve been saying fraggin’ and bastich quite a bit,” Momoa revealed in an interview with Comic Book.com, suggesting a much more over-the-top take on the very over-the-top character.
Jason Momoa Leaks Lobo’s Appearance
Though it seems Jason Momoa himself wasn’t just settled with a fraggin’ fun tease. In a separate chat with Cinemablend, he explained that Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow will be decking him out in complete white body paint. He even offered to show a picture to the interviewer, which would’ve been the first major leak out of the new DC Universe, before being stopped by the publicist. It seems the only thing that can stop Lobo himself is contract law!
It’s clear that the Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow team is waiting for the perfect time to reveal how Jason Momoa will look as Lobo in the DC Universe. Given how big of a star Momoa is, it’s likely such a reveal will be one of the biggest marketing pushes for the movie. So they probably wouldn’t want to waste it promoting an entirely different movie!
