‘Aquaman’ Star Jason Momoa Becomes Wolverine Villain Sabretooth In New Image

A digital artist has created a new image that imagines Aquaman star Jason Momoa as Wolverine nemesis Sabretooth.

With the future of the X-Men now in the hands of Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige, fans are already proposing potential candidates for the role of Wolverine, who was played by Hugh Jackman in 20th Century Fox’s X-Men film series. This past weekend, Aquaman star Jason Momoa attended Celebrity Fan Fest in San Antonio, Texas and expressed his interest in taking over the role of Wolverine, but it appears digital artist BossLogic has a different X-Men character in mind for him to portray.

In a new piece by BossLogic, Aquaman actor Jason Momoa is depicted as Sabretooth, the mutant with bestial superhuman abilities who is a frequent foe of Wolverine in the comics. In the X-Men film series, Sabretooth was first portrayed by Tyler Mane before Liev Schreiber took over the role in the much-malligned X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

Check out the post below to see Aquaman‘s Jason Momoa as Wolverine villain Sabretooth.

Of course, Jason Momoa may have his hands full as the Aquaman sequel is currently set to be released in theaters on December 16, 2022. In the meantime, the first Aquaman film is now available on all home media formats.

Here’s the official synopsis for Jason Momoa’s Aquaman:

Pictures and director James Wan comes an acition-packed adventure that spans the vast, visually breathtaking underwater world of the seven seas, “Aquaman,” starring Jason Momoa in the title role. Veteran X-Men producer Simon Kinberg makes his directorial debut with Dark Phoenix in addition to producing the film with Hutch Parker, Lauren Schuler Donner and Todd Hallowell. Dark Phoenix is expected to be Fox's final X-Men film featuring the core X-Men cast in the cinematic universe launched by director Bryan Singer in 2000 with the Disney-Fox merger now complete.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix stars James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Tye Sheridan, Sophie Turner, Alexandra Shipp, Kodi Smit-McPhee, Evan Peters, and Jessica Chastain. Here's the film's synopsis:

“This is the story of one of the X-Men’s most beloved characters, Jean Grey, as she evolves into the iconic DARK PHOENIX.  During a life-threatening rescue mission in space, Jean is hit by a cosmic force that transforms her into one of the most powerful mutants of all.  Wrestling with this increasingly unstable power as well as her own personal demons, Jean spirals out of control, tearing the X-Men family apart and threatening to destroy the very fabric of our planet.  The film is the most intense and emotional X-Men movie ever made. It is the culmination of 20 years of X-Men movies, as the family of mutants that we’ve come to know and love must face their most devastating enemy yet — one of their own.”

Dark Phoenix is set to hit theaters on June 7, 2019. Stay tuned to Heroic Hollywood for the latest news on the future of the X-Men.
